What to consider when purchasing a Paintball Marker / Gun Package:
The easiest way to get quickly into Paintball is to purchase a Paintball Gun Package that will include all the accessories and components you'll need. With a wide range of choices; it can often be very overwhelming trying to decide which package to purchase.
The key essential components that you'll want to consider in any package are the paintball marker / gun itself, an air source (tank), a loader, and a mask. Other components that are nice to have include packs, tubes, remotes, etc. In our opinion, the 2 most critical components are the gun and mask. Paintball guns can be purchased as cheaply as $30 at your local walmart, however, your paintball experience will likely suffer. A good paintball marker will make you more competitive because it will be more accurate, consistent, and less likely to malfunction. The paintball mask is also very important and additional money you intend to spend should be used to purchase a higher quality paintball mask. Any paintball mask is better than no mask, however, a higher quality mask uses facial foam that is more comfortable. They also are more likely to include an anti-fog lense that will help keep your vision clear. This doesn't sound tremendously important, however, the first time your mask fogs and you're left with mask imprints on your forehead, you'll appreciate the value that a slightly more expensive mask will offer.
We've broken our paintball marker packages down based on what type of marker they come with. We recommend marker packages from Kingman (Spyder), Tippmann, and Battle Tested (BT). Each manufacturer has its own distinct strengths and price differences. Click on each manufacturer to learn more about what their paintball guns offer.

What to look for in a Paintball marker:
It is extremely important to consider the following criteria when purchasing your first Paintball package: price, reliability, and purpose.
Price speaks for itself... However, don't sell yourself short and spend $50 on a Paintball marker that will cost you more than that in maintenance and will never shoot as well as you want. There are excellent paintball markers available that cost less than $200, but have features that are similar to markers that typically cost more than a $1,000.
