Paintball masks are one of the most important paintball equipment investments you can make. As paintballs whiz through the air at over 250 mph you want to be able to focus on strategy not on whether your face, head and eyes are sufficiently protected or whether you are going to end up with a bunch of paint in your ear. How do you choose the best paintball mask or paintball goggles for you? You need to consider fit, face protection, visor, ear coverage and which paintball mask will work best if you wear glasses. You also need to consider your budget and how often you plant to use it before you buy. Also remember, do not use any other type of mask or goggles as a paintball mask. You need to buy something that will withstand paintballs and truly offer you the protection you need! Find the perfect paintball mask here at Compulsive Paintball!
Compulsive Paintball is proud to carry an excellent selection of paintball masks and paintball goggles. All paintball face protection is federally regulated to withstand the high speed and velocity of paintballs. You may be tempted to re-use ski goggles or some other kind of helmet as protection in your paintball games, but you must buy a true paintball mask to gain the proper protection. A few things to consider when choosing the right paintball mask for you. 1. Does it fit properly? Feel free to go to a paintball retailer and try on various brands of paintball masks and goggles and then shop online to find the best price. You want to make sure it fits snugly on your head or over any head covering you like to wear when playing paintball. It is important to make sure your ears are fully covered and that your mouth is free and clear so talking and breathing won’t be an issue. You will be running around and moving quite a bit so you don’t want a loose mask or face covering that will jostle around and you play. 2. Check your field of vision and make sure you have adequate sun protection. You want to make sure you have clear peripheral vision and that you can wear glasses beneath the paintball mask if you need to. After all, if your vision is occluded in any way you could miss a critical play on the field. Additionally, if you can’t wear your glasses beneath your paintball goggles, you’ll be seriously out of luck. Also make sure that if you want a sun visor that your paintball mask comes equipped. On a sunny day you don’t want someone to be able to surprise you because the sun glare is too strong. 3. If you are a heavy breather when you play, you may be frustrated with fogged paintball goggles. If you choose a mask with a thermal lens (double paned) then you’ll avoid this and be able to focus on your play that much more.
